I've been an avid viewer of One Tree Hill. I don't really like the plot, but what I love about it is the voiceovers. These voiceovers somehow touched the inner core in me, my heart. So I decided to write a blog about the episode tonight. And I want to share a bit of what touched my heart that made me think and reflect.
Every once in a while people step up, they rise above themselves. Sometimes they surprise you, and sometimes they fall short. Life is funny sometimes, it can push pretty hard, but if you look close enough you find hope in the words of children, in the bars of a song and in the eyes of someone you love. And if you're lucky, and if you're the luckiest person on this entire planet, the person you love decides to love you back. I think it's true. Even when we lose hope at times, hope still comes back to us. It's something we'll always have, and we should never ever allow it to leave us. Hope is what keeps us alive other than love. Love is a pretty hard thing to find. Some people are really lucky to have found someone who loves them back. Guess, I'm not the luckiest person on this entire planet, huh?
You know it's been said that we just don't recognize the significant moments of our lives while they are happening. We grow complacent with ideas, or things or people and we take them for granted and it's usually not until that thing is about to be taken away from you that you've realized how wrong you've been that you realized how much you need it, how much you love it. This is definitely true. We usually tend to not appreciate those things or people while we still have them, but when we lose them, we realize how much they matter to us. And we go on with our lives regretting why we didn't seize and enjoy the moment while they were still there. I, for one was a victim to this. I tend to worry about the most insignificant things, forgetting that I already have what I ever wanted. Until fate took it away, then I realized how much of a fool I was.
Stepping up. It's a simple concept. It basically means to rise above yourself; to do a little more, to show you something special. Something like this.... He is gone but that doesn't mean the season is over. As a matter of fact, I say it's just beginning. Life's funny sometimes; can push pretty hard like when you fall in love with someone but they forget to love you back, like when your best friend and your boyfriend leave you alone, like when you pull the trigger or light the flame and you can't take it back. Like I said, in sports they call this 'stepping up'. In life, I call it pushing back. Life is really funny. How it gives you the most amazing gift you've ever received all your life and takes it away from you in a blink of an eye. We cannot take back what we did, we cannot change the past. What we can do is live life, love again and move on. Not an easy thing to do, I know. But it's the only thing, the only best thing we can do for ourselves. We shouldn't blame ourselves for what happened, it's a twist of fate, the bitterness of life. We may stumble once, twice or even a thousand times but we shoud never lose hope, step up and live life. Easier said than done. But that's what life is all about. How can we experience true happiness if we never felt the purest of pain.
